Our S2 students took part in the YPI final, in Mid Yell on 28th March. Our 2 teams were fantastic – showcasing the work done by their chosen charities. One team spoke passionately about SANDS (stillbirth and neonatal death) and the Unst Partnership.
Unfortunately, neither group was duccessful in securing the £3000, although a member of the judging panel was so impressed withe SANDS group presentation, that they donated a large sum of their own money to the charity.
It was a great experience for our S2 students, and the whole process was very worthwhile; helping our students to develop their research and presentation skills whilst learning about charities within Shetland and the huge impact they have.
