Last Wednesday night saw a combined exercise between Unst and Yell, Highlands & Islands Fire & Rescue services. This exercise was undertaken at the unused Officers Mess building in Haroldswick and was an ideal opportunity for both stations to work together in a simulated environment.

With several smoke machines in operation and a number of casualties, the exercise proved to be highly beneficial, as a real incident may well involve both stations.
