The Unst Heritage Centre is Unst’s permanent link to it’s rich history, through a fine collection of artefacts and items donated to the centre from residents past and present. The centre will showcase crofting, traditional knitwear and lace, geology, Unst religion history and information on WW1 and it’s effects on Unst.

These depict an island full of tradition with a great number of items related to how previous residents madeĀ a living from the island’s many resources. These range far and wide, but the most prominent would be crofting, fishing, quarrying, fish farming or playing a major role in the defence of the British Isles with the situation of Britain’s most northerly defence installation at RAF SaxaVord in Unst.

Unst has a glorious past and we would like to share it with you.
