A Premier League clash, at home against Scalloway.

Saturday, 1st September 2007 - Premier League
Unst 4 - 3 Scalloway
(HT 2-1)
E. Thomson (x2) A. Davidson (pens x2)
P. Henderson (pen) G. Burns
S. Reyner

The home teams fine recent form was finally converted to points when Scalloway visited a stormy Baltasound on Saturday.

Unst started with the wind but never really troubled the Scalloway box. With Ross Duncan marshalling the defensive line and Brian Johnson's assured handling at half time it was goalless.

Scalloway took the lead when Gary Burns was felled in the box and Alan Davidson blasted home the spot kick. To their credit Unst began to raise their game and a fine flowing move up the left found Erik Thomson who beat his man and drilled home.

Scalloway were back in front a minute later when Burns' fine control allowed him time to lob home. Unst's Thomson, Neil Laurenson and Paul Henderson began to control the central area supported by Neil Smith breaking from the back. 20 minutes from time Thomson went down in the box and Henderson netted the penalty despite wild Scalloway protest.

It was all Unst now and Thomson capped a man of the match display with a sublime diving header from Laurenson's pinpoint cross. Laurenson's fiery 25 yard volley to the inside of the post was worthy of a goal but Simon Robin was offside when he stuck away the rebound. Five minutes from time Robin was not to be denied when he outstripped the Scalloway defence to make it 4-2. However, Unst had to hold on the hardway when Bobby MacAulay's bizarre 'superman' hand ball gave Davidson his second from the spot.
