Shetland Nature<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Today we enjoyed a lovely morning leading a field trip onto the Keen o Hamar National Nature Reserve on Unst, for 16 P4 & 5 pupils from Baltasound Junior High School<\/a>. <\/a>So much fun for Brydon and former BJHS teacher, Mike Pennington<\/a> to share this fascinating and unique habitat and the rare flowering sub-Arctic Alpine plants that grow there, and even some of the bugs that live there. The pupils were wonderfully enthusiastic- particularly impressed by Edmonston\u2019s Chickweed growing there on their island and nowhere else in the world!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A big thank you to all the pupils for being so engaged and interested- and well behaved (!), and to their teachers Miss Painter and Mrs Nivin- thank you for asking us, it was an absolute pleasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our newSWAROVSKI OPTIK Birding<\/a> \u2018My Junior\u2019 binoculars were a big hit too- the perfect day and way to connect the kids that bit more with nature, using binoculars designed just for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
