This week, Upper Primary have been working on a project with Jamie from A Place in Childhood \u2013 a national organisation that helps children and young people share their views on their communities. The pupils took Jamie on a quick tour of Unst, showing him what matters most to them and discussing what they would like to improve. Their top two priorities were Play (in and around school and the play parks) and Tunnels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the project, they completed a play sufficiency survey and later had the opportunity to share their ideas with representatives from the Shetland Islands planning department, Unst Partnership, and community involvement and development officer. They put forward thoughtful suggestions to help encourage positive change in their community. Everyone contributed and spoke confidently, and Jamie praised them for the fantastic work they did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
