Baltasound and Mid Yell JHS YPI Finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Last week Baltasound hosted this year’s North Isles Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) finals, sponsored by the Wood Foundation and Arven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The groups of S3 pupils each presented on a local social issue and charities which support them – a great way for the pupils to develop skills in research, teamwork, communication, organisation and confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to the winning team who represented Dogs Against Drugs, a worthy charity who will make good use of the \u00a33000 prize fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special thanks to the judges from Cooke Scotland<\/a>, SaxaVord Spaceport<\/a> and pupil and parent council members from each school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
