Today, S1 and S2 enjoyed a Book Caf\u00e9 event in English. Over the weekend, Miss Mitchell baked homemade cinnamon swirls, which pupils warmed up themselves today while preparing hot chocolates topped with cream and marshmallows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a fun and relaxed atmosphere, filled with enthusiastic reading. The bairns explored a range of fiction and non-fiction texts, as well as audiobooks, with many becoming fully absorbed in their books. A particular highlight of the session was Joni discovering his Uncle Peter\u2019s boat, Star of Hope, featured in the book Shetland Fishermen, creating a meaningful personal connection to the text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bairns demonstrated excellent organisational and practical skills while preparing their drinks and heating the cinnamon swirls responsibly. Most importantly, the event provided a cosy and enjoyable opportunity for pupils to relax, read, and build positive associations with reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
