UnstFest’s first day of events and the weather held out for an entertaining Kartie Race down Gutter Street. Folks of all ages rolled up with their homemade karties and a good crowd turned out to see who was the fastest of them all.
Open every day throughout UnstFest, an exhibition of local artwork.
1-4pm, Shore Station, Burrafirth. Free admission.

It’s International Unst Day!
Come along on Sunday 14th July to the Methodist Kirk, Haroldswick, for a musical evening with a selection of musicians and performers.
7pm for 7.30pm start, donations welcomed.
Sunday 14th July sees the trout fishing competition being held from 4-10pm. Meet at Baltasound Marina, £3 + membership (£10).
Come along to the Haroldswick Hall! Family day with games and tea, why not bring a picnic? Sunday 14th July from 12-5pm, teas, homebakes and picnic items available.
Take your own bucket and spade along to Norwick Beach on Sunday 14th July and see who can build the finest sand castle! From 11am-12noon, everyone welcome (free).
The 2013 festival is the 5th UnstFest and looks to be another bumper year of events, activities and excitement, on the most northerly island in Britain.
