A whirlwind start for the Delts saw Ross Jamieson arrow a 25 yard free kick into the top corner with only 60 seconds on the clock. To their credit Unst never buckled and what followed was an entertaining end to end affair.
Delting had a dominant spell but there were no takers for Stuart Hay and Peter Peterson's left wing crosses. With half time approaching Neil Laurenson evaded Ross Jamieson to volley in a Paul Henderson free kick and draw unst level. Delting went straight back on the attack and were rewarded in injury time when Jamieson met a flick at the back post to nod home.
The second half was a high quality affair with Unst feeling they had a chance. Laurenson, Henderson and Erik Thomson began taking control of the midfield feeding their frontmen and willing wingbacks. It was goig to take real quality to break down the Delting defence and Matthew Mouat's was parried by the visiting keeper early on.
On the break Peterson clipped an Unst upright and Leighton Flaws the bar with a fiery drive, before Jamieson made it 3-1, and his hatrick, with fine control and a shot into the roof of the net.
Ten minutes from time Erik Thomson played a one-two on the half way line and evaded a couple of challenges before curling a 25 yard beauty around Craig Dinwoodie to complete the scoring.
Best in a thriller were Jamieson for Delting and Laurenson and Thomson for Unst.
