Marine Litter & Swan Trip

On Monday, we had the opportunity to be part of the Marine Litter workshops, delivered by author and artist, Julia Barton. This ties in with our ERASMUS project (Let’s Think About Plastic) and allowed us to appreciate the scale of marine litter and take a trip on the Swan sail training boat and take samples from the sea around Baltasound. We were then able to analyse these samples and gauge what was in the water.

A great experience for our S1 and S2 students and an opportunity for all of us to test out our sea legs – it was a bit bumpy going round Balta with the sails up!
