Working From Home

Dear Parent,

As Baltasound JHS is closed for pupils this week, the staff have been busy organising materials and resources that students can work through at home.

Later today, the staff will be dropping off packs of work for our Primary students to work through. We will endeavour to deliver this to your door although if you are not home, you can contact the school with an alternative time that suits. All Upper Primary and Secondary pupils have a login for Glow – this is a secure online area where students can access Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc) and Glow Blogs. If any student has forgotten their username/password, please phone the school and the staff will be able to sort this. Students will be asked to use their Glow blogs in order to share what they are learning, the skills they are developing and the careers that need these skills.

For our Secondary students, the staff have been uploading materials to Glow and all students should regularly check their Glow emails to ensure they are keeping up to date with tasks set by their subject teachers. Several subjects and the Upper Primary class have also setup a Microsoft Team in order to share information/activities and keep in regular contact with each other. I would ask parents to remind their child to ensure they are using these facilities responsibly and appropriately; all of us supporting each other to get the most out of learning from home.
