Morrison Construction

Today we had a visit from the team at Morrison Construction. They are the company who are building the new Anderson High School and Halls Of Residence. They showed us a presentation about the new build and we took part in activites including seeing who couldbuild the strongest structure out of midget gems and cocktail sticks – learning the difference in strength between a triangle and square shape.

We also learned about a construction site and the different trades and discussed other jobs in construction which include design, estimating, quantity surveying and Health & Safety.

We also learned what it was like for someone with dyslexia, going through school and intro the construction industry and the challenges they faced and they overcame them.
