Farm To Fork

“Today has been the best day ever!” This is how the pupils from Lower Primary summed up today, their first school trip for many of them. Our topic for this term is ‘Farm to Fork’ so we started the day with a visit to Victoria at the tearooms where she showed us all the local produce she uses every day in the tearooms.

We had fun in the park before visiting Unst Heritage Centre where we learned about crofting and fishing in the past and saw lots of interesting and wonderful artefacts. After lunch we had stories and songs in the long house with Mr F.

Our final stop was Buddabreke where we held newborn lambs, had great fun sitting on the quads and tractors and were in awe of Duncan and Jane’s ‘muck clearer upper’! Thank you to everyone who has made this day an extra special one to remember.
