Numeracy LP

Lower Primary have been learning about money as part of their Numeracy lessons. The pupils asked if they could set up a ‘real shop’ so we did! They chose to open a flapjack shop. First the pupils baked their flapjacks, weighing out ingredients carefully and working together in small groups to make and bake them.

There were three sizes to choose from and we invited prospective customers to come and buy from the shop. This supported their learning to recognise coins, use their knowledge of number facts to add up the shopping bill and give the correct change to our customers as required. Thank you to staff and pupils who supported our shop. The bairns had a brilliant day and the shop was sold out by mid afternoon.
