Astronomers Visit

On Wednesday this week, we had Dr Chris Leigh from the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University. He facilittated a series of workshops with our P4 to S2 students where they learned all about the solar system. The whole day was space focussed and included facts about the planets in the solar system, what happens when you mix different colours of light and how things look different in infra-red and ultra-violet light. The students also learned how to make a planisphere to identify the stars visible at different times.

All of the student enjoyed it greatly, broadening their horizons and, for some, getting a glimpse of what it’s like to have a space industry career. A big thanks for Dr Chris for taking the time to visit us.
