Play Scotland Play Pedagogy Award

This year at Baltasound School one of our key improvement priorities is to develop our use of play as a way for young people to learn and develop across the whole school.

We have been starting to embrace this over the last few years, especially in Early Years and the Lower Primary classes. Earlier this year we also appointed a Support Worker (play) in Mrs Doull to further support the Primary classes in this journey.

We have also been fortunate to be one of only 10 schools in Scotland who are Pilot schools working towards the Play Scotland Play Pedagogy Award (in collaboration with Education Scotland) over the next 2 years and hoping to fully embed play in our day to day life and ethos.
