P4 – BYPTSD

P. Thomson | March 11, 2026 | Community, News, Parental Engagement, Trending | No Comments

Yesterday, primary 4 welcomed their parents to join us in school! We started the day with ERIC (everyone reading in class), followed by learning how to use speech marks in our writing. We showed the parents how we use laptops to support our writing. After break, we learnt how to add money.

Pupils and parents had to visit our middle primary shop and create dinner within a budget. Not only did this work on adding money but also supported the development of life skills in planning and budgeting. It was great to hear so many pupils asking if they could then make this at home, with lots of parents agreeing to this (we’d love to see pictures if you do!). In the afternoon, we learnt about making circuits, and compared schools in the past to schools now.

We also had discovery time, when we showed and discussed what we learnt through play. Thank you to parents for taking the time to come in, we loved having you!
