STEM

Over the last two weeks, we were delighted to welcome Eleanor, STEM Coordinator from UHI Shetland, into school to deliver a range of engaging STEM workshops with our pupils 🚀🤖

Middle and Upper Primary pupils took part in Robotics and Maths activities where they explored measurement, problem solving and coding through practical challenges using robots. Pupils worked collaboratively to programme robots, investigate shapes and perimeter, and test out their ideas through hands on learning and play.

Our Secondary 1 to 3 pupils took part in exciting Space themed activities linked to Scotland’s growing space industry. They designed and tested rockets, explored coding through satellite challenges, and investigated how satellite data can be used in the real world.

It was fantastic to see pupils so engaged, creative and enthusiastic throughout the sessions, developing teamwork, critical thinking and STEM skills in a fun and interactive way.

A huge thank you to Eleanor for visiting Baltasound and providing such valuable learning experiences for our pupils 🌍
